I was having problems with Photobucket, so I opened a Picassa account. Pics upload quickly and look great on there, but I can't figure out how to transfer them to here in picture form? I sooo don't care for a post full of links to pics. Would someone please be so kind as to explain how it is to be done properly? TY

And apparently, I can't spell tonight either.
That would be Is there a Trick...(Not Trip)...Although I seem to be tripping over my fingertips.

Once they are in photobucket, which I find easier than Picasa, I simplu click on the last one one the 4 adresses under the pictures, it says copied then I paste here. You have to paste the img. line, not the http/ one.

Thanks. I'll try photobucket again tonight and see if it's being cooperative.
Picassa loads far faster for me. It's just the URL that is supposed to load pics isn't??
But like most websites these days, maybe it won't respond to my old puter and dial up.

I just tried to upload some pics into photobucket and can't do it. I don't know if it is just the site, or if there is something wrong with my computer. I have never had trouble just trying to get pics onto there, but when I click on upload from my computer, it doesn't even show the 'my pictures' part, only the desktop stuff. Picasa is very easy to get your photos onto, but I can't figure out how to post them anywhere. At least that part was easy with photobucket. I find myself getting very frustrated with this stuff, and then I stop and think, I can communicate with people all over, I can view videos, and get info that would have taken days to get otherwise. It's funny how quickly we get spoiled. All that said, I would still like to throw this computer out the door. I think it is getting ready to die anyway. I would like to get a Mac next time around, but don't really know where to start.

Karen, before you consider a Mac, also consider what webforums you belong to, et c. IF you are an active member of any webforums on MSN, you might want to rethink this. I remember a new member being totally frustrated with the fact that she couldn't post pics on a poultry site that was very active as far as sharing pics with others. Of course, Mac has different software than Microsoft...and Microsoft is MSN. She quit the group.

Picasa is easy, when you are looking at an individual photo scroll down a little and look to the right. Click on the link that says "Link to this photo". It should give you a couple more options. Click the size you want the photo to be on here, medium is usually pretty good, and then click under "HTML to embed in website". This should highlight the text, and maybe copy, but I would push ctrl c just incase. Then come here, past the text in the message window and submit. The photo should be linked to the picasa page, if you don't want it linked you can do it too but it is a little more complicated. Hope to see lots of pictures soon!

Greengrass, would you mind going into how to post the photos directly here with Picasa instead of just the linking? I am really not good at this stuff, and I appreciate the info you provide. I like the fact that Picasa is so easy to upload photos from your computer, and much faster than the others, but Photobucket is easier to just click, copy and paste. Does anyone know of a site that combines the best of these? Thanks

Sorry, I even confused myself with my wording. What I meant was that the photo will be here but if you click it, it will be linked to your picasa, which really isn't a big deal. Pretty easy, just click "Link to this photo", choose a size, highlight "HTML to embed in website", copy and paste here. Here is an example of medium size:

Well shoot, that didn't work. I think html is disabled here. Alan or any moderators, is it possible to enable html so we can post photos? There is another way to do it but it is tougher, I'll try to go through it a little later.

Following Grunt's generous directions at TaterMater for Picasa, here's my Triple Play Sweet Corn picked yesterday and eaten for supper at 1a. Tasty! ;D

Grunt says to right click and use that url (I think), I can't seem to get that way to work. The only way I can do it is if I take the link to embed the image on a page and take out everything but the image address. Who knows.. It would still be nice if we could just enable html somehow..

In Picasa, Dan has us Right Click on the small picture in the album. Select Copy Image Location and Paste to Notepad. In the http: address pasted in Notepad, change the s144 to s800 to make the linked picture larger. Select and Copy the changed address in Notepad. In the Add Tags area, Click on the Picture Icon in the 2nd row, 4th from the left. Paste between the Image brackets. Here's a pic of my Hellstrip on 1 Aug- Hope this helps. john t
