I first came accross Rebsies blog last year and from there followed the links to the others mentioned. All are a great source of inspiration and have led to me really progress with my own aim of have stable varieties of heritage seed that does well in my area of the world.
I have managed it with Banana shallots and Rose de roscoff onion, although now that this is a designated "brand" by geographical location, perhaps I should call them Rose of England onions. I have a few interesting Serbian varieties of pole bean that will be grown again this year.
Yes the world is a smaller place but with so much seed diversity out there, its a whole universe too. Thank you all for help and inspiration

Well my friend, in the learning department, you might be helping a bit Please explain the banana shallots. Are they the ones the french call frog legs? And as of the Rose de Roscof, I am awaiting, as many in North America I am pretty sure, some form of enlightment

There used to be a very rare variety of onion that came from the Cambridge area of England, it was totally flat- being only about half to three quarters of an inch thick and about four or five inches across it, very strange onion, but it seems to have died out a bit in recent years- cant remember what the called it, and they looked just like little flat saucers lying on the ground.
