Val, I don't think I can add to your experience in this department, really, but I am more than happy to write on your blog as you asked me. I would just like to know what kind of audience I would have to target. Beginners, experienced gardeners ?
It changes everything. I guess it boils down to who you realy want to talk to...
In the regional paper, I write for gardeners with a certain experience. All the darn gardening columns in french papers are always about the birds and the bees... and gardening is the number one pastime in the country. So I guess some people don't need that beginners charade anymore, but I am not being too technical, I know I am not talking to people used to lots of advanced techniques or much into heirlooms and seed savings and such....
Organic Gardening magazine never grew with its readership, which as long past the beginner stage, and became obsolete. I don't want my column to go that route, but there is a fine line to walk, and one is better to know exactly who he is targeting...

Dave, Could I copy and paste your method, giving you full credit for it. I mentioned it in passing, but you have given a full description of how you do it.
Michel, I am hoping to cover the topics so that eventually they will cover from beginner to advanced readers. What I am hoping to do is to cover things generally and then go back and provide detailed descriptions, so that we can help people from every level of experience. I decided to to this, when we had open houses and people from all levels of gardening experience asked questions, for what to me were basic gardening questions. Does this help you prepare your contributions?
Everybody - please, feel free to contribute your experiences and methods. I am hoping this blog will eventually reach a wide audience with varying levels of gardening experiences and abilities. You can send your articles to me at grungysgarden@gmail.com as I set up this account with that in mind. I am more than willing to give you credit for anything I post that comes from any of you.
Cheers, Val aka grungy

Well, any sight of a good looking female gardener in a tight short skirt is pretty much an aphrodisiac for me! High heels in the garden are a fantasy bonus!! Especially if she contemplates slicing cukes picklers with envy!! ;D Alan, I said it before you step in with your mouse thing ! Or worse: gherkins!! Gotcha! Lalalalèèèèreeee

Lalalalèèèèreeee Who the hell gardens in a tight short skirt? lol Now, Mike, if you wear a nice pair of heel in the garden, you can aerate the soil at the same time. ;D Please have Vivienne get a few pics for us. I'm sure Grungy would find a space for it on the blog.

Grungy, what would I know about such things? I don't speak French. Well except maybe for Ooo La La I hate to promise anything right now. I've got 45 days to finish selling horses, poultry, farm equipment, and pack, while continuing to work, etc. If you aren't in any hurry for this, I might have time to do it once we are moved and I am needing a break from looking for gainful employment? Okay, afternoon update. I'm fighting a flu that has gone through the store I work in. So this afternoon, I spent some time vegging on the couch thumbing through some old gardening books and a few seed catalogues for info. Found some very interesting stuff!! Too sick to form thought processes, but I did manage a few notes.

Whenever you can you can, Blue. Take good care of yourself, get over this flu (dang stuff always happens when a girl is busy). Hope your move goes successful, and you have an easy time find work. May your sales go well for you also. And please, unlike Mike, don't lose you seed stash.
By the way, where will you be located after the move.
Here's rooting for you, Cheers, Val aka grungy

Val, TY. We are going back to the Niagara Region after an absence of 15 years. But I'm soooo looking forward to it. Well, except for the fact that I have to sell my mare and my poultry. But there is some of the most fertile land in Canada there and some great gardeners to rub dirty elbows with.
