Ahh, how hard it can be to find raw milk. Then you might find yourself where I was; I found a source, but they wanted 13 dollars/gallon. I decided to just leave it alone, cause when I saw that it ticked me off. So I now go with something that is far superior, and is cheap to make, and just as good for you. Kombacha tea. It has all the probiotics, along with a few ingredients that the milk does not. I think this has got to be one of the most healthy items you can get, and make yourself. I also like the kifer grains, but as for the trouble in finding the raw milk for a reasonable price, or the uncertainty in purchasing organic milk, I personally think I will stick with the kombacha tea. I hope though you can find a source that does not gouge you, cause if you can find some for even half that price, it just might be worth it. Good luck

It can be very hard to find raw milk. In Ohio it is illegal to sell such retail and herdshare agreements are very tenuous right now. I pay $5.50 a gallon (vs $7.50 gal for commercial pasturized/homogenized organic) for raw milk here in SW Ohio via a herd share program. To be in this program I had to fill out a 17 page contract so the ODA did not come and shut the dairy down and fine the farmer (a good friend) $25K or more.
Washington and California are rare in that they allow retail sales. I believe Mass also allows such. In Indiana it is illegal to sell raw milk altogether though I know of several farms doing so in Southern and East central IN.
