He's the 12 year old w/ the opossum in his avatar. I think he put me on ignore prior to my calling him by his proper name/subgenus, due to the posts that he's read here.
Note to Frankie: "my comment (now edited) was "come and get your just desserts. We're serving up douchebag alamode and you're the main ingredient".
I like GGG's posts, as a rule, but personally, I don't really think politics has any business on a gardening forum. I've not been on TV for long so I still don't know what to think about it. So far, I like it. At least it is well moderated, from what I can tell. .

It's what you can't read by a select few moderators in the moderators only thread that might change your mind about TV. I mentioned the fact this existed and was told this "betrayal" was the "final straw" and the reason I was banned. That's okay by me I was getting real tired of the hypocrisy and that's why I started calling it out. Just what was in that forum anyway that Mischka felt mentioning would be a "betrayal" anyway? I could post cached screenshots of such discussions like Feldon and Mischka do. One would think running their own board, reading private messages between its members, never posting and obsessively and daily looking at every single page and post on a separate board would just make them too busy to try to control and dictate agendas on other boards. But apparently not

They can read the PMs? Huh... guess I'd better watch my mouth in those! I've done my share of complaining through the PMs on idig... well, I guess that explains some things. Lucky for me, I rarely if ever say something privately about a person that I wouldn't say right to their face. Less issue when you handle things that way. Never have to worry who's repeating what you said to someone else.

LoreD there is a *war* and it is being perpetuated by Mischka. He went into a chat room minus the TV name and banned a load of people because they dared to treat him as one of the crowd, not the high and mighty owner of TV. Then he joined another board and began banning people who dared utter a peep of dissent about TV. Then he turned around and lied to his board that he didn't ban people without a history of infractions on TV. LIE! There is ample proof of his lies.
And yes, he read pms. Not that he can't do it. He can. But that calls integrity and ethics into account in my book. No one was dissing anyone, just cluing others into where the banned folks had gone.

I don't have many pms that include a lot of personal conversations. I usually talk about gardening stuff. There are a few people that I have talked to so I usually get their e-mail address.
A couple of people informed me that none of the pm systems at any of the forums are secure. But I agree I shouldn't be saying anything about anyone that I wouldn't say publicly.
tomatoaddict was banned over Idig today. Everybody is getting evicted.

It's weird. I don't remember seeing him use a foul word and I was following the thread pretty closely, I thought. Was it automatically ------ing out the foul words or were they just messing with him? Sometimes I don't understand these "gardening" forums at all. Why is there so much contention? It's not like the various forums are competing for business. I know that I've gotten kind of wrapped up with the whole Idig Zman, snakehandler mess, but that's not the norm for me and with proper moderation, that situation wouldn't exist anyway. Whatever, I like this place best, I just wish there were more people here. I don't have many pms that include a lot of personal conversations. I usually talk about gardening stuff. All I can say is that the different forums seem to be having a rash of "forum nationalism" lately, and I think it's rediculous. Last I checked, I was an American citizen first, and a member of idig, TV, Phil's Phorum and Homegrown Goodness second.

Look, I found my way here. Not gonna add anything constructive, but, nice to see everyone. Andy, the forum nationalism thing does seem to be true, but, it was true at GW from a while back, at least a couple of years ago, you couldn't mention 'hostile' forums. Nothing is ever really new

Well, I guess if we're going to be members of battling forums, they really do need get t-shirts for us. Or we all could hide out here at Homegrown until they've finished the battle and counted the casualties. LoreD

Unfortunately, people have to break it up into political/religious or anti religious/fashion/nationalist/racial, or whatever lines and then duke it out WWF style. I'm disgusted as to how divisive and Jerry Springeresque society in general has become. I just want to grow some good veggies (with the help of some experienced gardeners), enjoy my husband and pets and teach z a lesson for being a turd on these here internets (1/2 joking). LoreD, I'm with you. Let's hunker down and weather the shitstorm that's brewing.

I think if you want to be talking politic you should move to a forum designed for that subject.I LIKE this forum because i like to get dirt under my fingernail and grow some veggies and not to hear alot of drama. That is my two cent worth.

It seems that Internet forums go through phases. Maybe it's related to sudden member growth, so maybe it's good that there aren't too many members here. Eventually some trolls will wander in and try to stir up trouble. Like I said at TV once, I like the freedom of speech that Jere allows, not too crazy about overmoderation (is that an oxymoron?)... However, there will come a day when Alan has to do something about someone, and I hope he will do it swiftly and surely to set a precedent. That being said, I don't know if this has been designated a "family friendly" forum or not, but I think it's high time someone had an adult gardening forum...
