I have various cantelope, honeydew, charentais and Jenny Lind. What would happen if I saved seeds? I ate the first MN Midget today and reserved the seeds just in case.

I have various cantelope, honeydew, charentais and Jenny Lind. What would happen if I saved seeds? You would end up with great melons... Honeydews with a netted rind, and muskmelons with green flesh, etc. Melon heaven coming soon to a farmer's market in Minnesota.

I've been saving them for 2 years now and it is a work in progress.

Any details? I'm on my third year of selections out of Farthest North, looking for something that produces with only occasional watering.

I've been selecting for earliness and something that doesn't split or spoil but my record keeping is terrible and marking in the garden is worse. I had a huge crop this year.
