I just noticed these small white seeds. The mother plant must be an indian corn. I segregated a bunch of kernels that looked red from indian corn, Earthtones Rainbow Dent and Astronomy Domine. The mother plant grew from one of those seeds. Only a few plants came up, so I hand pollinated, but not too well. I used tassles from the "red" plants, and from the one white plant that came up. (Pennsylvania Butter Flavored) So I'm seeking opinions: is it more likely that these seeds are crossed, or just underdeveloped? If underdeveloped, why didn't they mature at the same time as the few normal looking seeds? Do they seem likely to be viable? I tried to test a few with my thumbnail to see if they'd passed milk stage, but they didn't rupture. Not tight/ full enough. Starting to dry down, or just not fully formed? Here's a picture of what came from the white plant, for comparison. (Only the third ear.)
