What is NPR? An idependant and free ( freedom) network? An anti-Fox of some sort?

National Public Radio. The US's equivalent to our CBC.

National Pentagon Radio (they were big cheerleaders in the run up to the the war)
but more so National Pharmaceutical Radio
look at who their underwriters are and pay attention to the topics and guests agendas
this used to a good network. now it's just a tool for the underwriters to spread their msgs

WFPL's Homegrown based out of Louisville Kentucky had a wonderfull segment about Elliot Coleman (johnny's selected seeds, four seasons farm, winter harvest manual) on the other day and some nice tobacco trivia, were supposed to be on their show latter this summer, keep you fingers crossed (or look up 89.3 WFPL Homegrown and request we be on the show, Please?).
