We have a thread that discussed the red seeded white strawberry, although the thread may be under a different name. You may be interested in these strawberries from Estonia: www.seemnemaailm.ee/eng/index.php?CID=21Their strawberries are all in seed form! We have almost no strawberry seed in the UK, they are traded as plants and quite expensive.

There is so much to say about Strawbs and there are many varieties. You can basicly select three forms; Forest strawberries, one time bearing strawbs (june) and more seasons bearing strawbs (from may/june till oktober). You can look it up on the internet. An example of june bearing is Elsanta, a very traditional variety here in Holland. An example of more season bearing is Ostara. My favourite forest strawberries are Yellow wonder (with white fruit) and Red wonder. Moschata tastes a bit like raspberry. When you like a very, very sweet strawb. choose Charlotte. Do you want a really big one choose Gigantella maxim.
When you want to plant strawbs make the beds asap, cause nice cultivated loose soil is very bad for them. They will lower into the soil and the heart of the plant will start to rot. The soil needs to sink in first. Don't fertilize them cause they can't stand the salts in fertilizers. Give them a thin layer of compost about half an inch that's enough to last a season. But don't let them dry out, strawbs need plenty of water, remember most of the berry is made of water.
Please excuse my English isn't without errors, but i hope you will understand most of what i'm trying to say. But when you have questions don't hesitate to ask.

I'm quite a strawberry collector and i collected: - Mara des Bois - Elsanta - Ostara - Temptation - Evie - Senga sengana - Corona - Magnum Cascade - Marshmellow - Mount Omei - Red Wonder - Roman - Yellow Wonder - Frau Mieze schindler - Darselect - Maxim And still a few others i can't recall right now. I'm growing them in big pots and pot up the runners around them to get more plants and have more strawberries next year. I'm still looking for a variety thats new here called Pineberry. A new strawberry that taste like pineapple. It's a white strawberry with red seeds. Ever heard of it? Hi, new here. I'm wondering about the Temptation strawberry. How big are they compared to say, Yellow Wonder? And how productive? I'm looking for a large productive self-seeding (alpine/forest?) strawberry. I'm inclined to try Fresca, but from what I read, Temptation is, well, tempting.

Hello Kellygirrl, Temptation is a good strawberry to use in containers, it doesn't produce a lot of runners. It's a reasonable fruit in weight, but not a very big one. More info: www.reimerseeds.com/temptation-strawberry.aspxYellow wonder is a smal, but very aromatic strawberry and the great benefit is the colour, birds don't touch them because they think it's not ripe yet. I love it's taste!

Looks like they only ship to 5 countries, France, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland and Tunisia.
That's a shame - they have a nice listing of strawberries including two white ones with red seed, similar to the Japanese white strawberries.

I love it's taste! If Temptation produces a good amount by weight, that's alright. I wonder if Fresca produces more, or is bigger? It's so hard to find good comparisons. As for Yellow Wonder, I have some growing, and I find them to be so tiny they are just a tease, hardly any fruit by weight. BTW, I had some white alpines that took over a partial shade area in my alley, before my Jerusalem Artichokes over shaded them. Hard to tell when they're ripe, and white is just a weird color for a strawberry, I decided.

Mike can you share the company name or how to get them for a small hobby farmers who would like them for home production What is the proper scientific name of these wonderful berries. Very popular in France we understand. We are new to this site and think it is wonderful. Thanks for your postings. GardenGnome.
