I had to take a snake to Vineland once for identification. It came into a client's store in a box of bananas and they quickly put it in a jar and called me to transport it to the lab. It wasn't anything to worry about (or so they said) but I didn't get any calls to pick it up and return it,

We will definetly keep you updated Jason, we might even throw up a new blog site this week just to track the activity here around the farm this fall if we get a chance.
All I'm wiling to say is that strange things happen here quite often, things that aren't easily explained and things which the neigbors on all the farms around us have also seen, heard, and felt, not sure what's going on, but October-January gets really intereresting around here for some reason or another!

My wife's brothers are neighbours, living on the family land with the cottage of my father in law in between, on the end of a country road. Both can see a man looking inside through the window quite often. This ghost cannot be seen by everybody. It also happens to a lady friend of mine, there is a lady ghost looking into the house. She even knows her name, she was recognized from pictures and used to live there.
Even closer to here,on my former street, at the limit of the city/village, there is a historical house owned by the regional baptist congregation, with a CAS operation, and they rent it cheap to families and groups for reunions. It has a reputation of being haunted. My friend's family came for its 40th birthday from all over Quebec and Ontario. They slept there. In one of the rooms, a 2 years old kid kept waking up Willie's sister in law during the night saying ''mom , monsters looking at me''. We then told her about the ghost stories the next morning.
As for your garden fairy, Jason, all I see on my puter screen looks like a miniature cloud of fog close to the ground. Am I missing something here?

Let's keep this thread going in the name of Halloween, it's definetly that time of the year to exchange our stories. Once I get caught up in the greenhouses and wood cut from the wind damage I'll be back to share more of Kim and I and my parents experiences here on the farm. Strange things do happen here and for the life of me I cannot explain them!

We have tons of lizards, frogs and praying mantis here this year and last. All are keystone species so that is a plus. Strange things happen here in the fall/early winter that Kim and I will be documenting this fall. If there is any viable proof of what we experience I will post for all to see. Umm...too bad we don't have a digital recorder...we could hook up to your external mic thing... Cause visible or not...there is enough audio stuff going on...Its crazy... The doors still get me...And the wood in the stove...And the shadow people...I think I'll take the gnome in the green house over the shadow people any day...

You guys have seen shadow people? That's not good. I hope it was not one of those 9 ft tall ones. Was it wearing a big hat and/or long coat? I've seen a few. They are not ghosts or spirits, but something completely different. If you are seeing them frequently, you might wanna plant ALOT of sage around the place.

I would say about six feet tall...Not really a coat or hat...More just a siloutte. Its kinda like you see it...and about the time you realize what you've see, it moves...I don't get any weird vibes from it. It's almost like its observing us. I don't really get creeped out by seeing things anymore...its more hearing things... Like the thing that chases coyotes and whistles...If you whistle back at it...It returns the favor...same pitch, and everything. That one creeps me out...lol!

I have a friend that lives close to the Ottawa river. Years ago, the National Film Board rented the neighbour's house right by her property. They were filming a documentary. The whole crew was to live there. There was, according to the locals, a ghost in the house, always making noise in one place. The Montreal folks laughed at it. Then during the night, the ghost started going down and up the stairs, making lots of noise. A former inhabitant had a wooden leg, that is in the records. Although they did not see him, he was making so much noise in the stairs the guys got terrified and left to rent an hotel room. Later, the staircase was destroyed and it never manifested again.
The restaurant that I sometimes supply, the Bourgetel, is host to a friendly ghost. He manifests himself visually, for some, or by moving things. My friend had a medium coming, they talked with him, gave its name. It was cerified that he was a widow that ended up living in one of the 6 rooms that were rented there eons ago. My friend knows his whole story. He even commented on the architectural changes Guy made in the place. They asked him not to manifest himself to the clients and he agreed. He spends most of his time in the furnace room now, but will sometimes show up to the staff.
But this is nothing compared to the Mackenzie King ghost... the former canadian prime minister haunts his former residence, now the summer residence of the prime minister of Canada. The staff there, including RCMP people and the maintenance people have a lot to say about him....
