E, I grew an Okie Redbud in a container a few years ago. It was quite content to live in the front hallway, sheltered from the wind. Well, until the cat decided to use the container for a potty. No more Okie..... Mawk, I've tried several locations here on the farm to start an asparagus patch. The only place that it did take hold and thrive has been in the raised bed intended for herbs. Mind you, it's also a spot where ice salt tends to accumulate in winter when we have to shovel the driveway, and asparagus does love salt, so this too might be a factor in it's success this time around? I'm guessing that you just might have ice salt at your house? I say give it a try.

KC, that's the way I used to do them, but in convex beds. But over time, the beds tend to even out if there are no solid borders and since you don't want to hurt the roots, which, along with going deep and everywhere, also have a tendency to come close to surface, you let it go and find out 5 years later there are no beds anymore...

Would asparagus grow well in a raised bed, do you think? Mine does.
