I know you are curious, but I have soooo many things to eat this winter, I only tried out the seeds of the one I opened (and, stupidly enough , threw away the rest.... ), but I'll inform you guys when time has arrived...for the flesh part...anyway, the seeds are very nice.....

Just curious, not that i have room for pumpkins or anything, but how does one go about extracting the oil from the seeds? Seems like it would take quite a few seeds to get an appreciable amount of oil. Have you guys seen how much pumpkin seed oil costs though? Its like $15 for a TINY bottle!

Well, stay away for a few weeks and look what happens! A post about an oil-seed pumpkin that has tasty flesh, one of my breeding projects for 2008/2009. I planted Lady Godiva along with Thelma Sanders Sweet Potato and Honeyboat with the plan of crossing them. Lady Luck must have taken a shine to me because a friend gave me some seeds of Rankenlose ölkurbis (yes, seeds originally from you orflo) and although they're a long way behind the other pumpkins already planted, I'm hoping the current warm, wet weather will speed things along. I hope they catch up. Sounds like Rankenlose ölkurbis X Thelma Sanders will be well worth pursuing.

Orflo, I'm sure you've guessed corectly. I also got some Oerprei (leek) and red maca, all courtesy of you I believe. My seed source lives quite close to my son and his family and I try to visit whenever I visit my son.
