At least now i know some of em will germinate. I have yet to get mine started... i got almost 170 varieties in a flat ready to go.. but i still need to add the water, i don't think they'll sprout too fast without it. I guess i'm a little slow getting started. Guess i should do that tommorrow. I'll try and catch up with ya here in the next couple weeks. Only got about 300 or so more varieties to get into the flats.
Let me know how they do for ya...

Landarc, the pimento pepper I recieved from Opal Floyd is of particular interest to me basically due to it's long history of cultivation here in my home town of Pekin. As far as taste and growth habbit, I have yet to give it a go so can't really comment on that. Basically I was really happy to recieve any kind of seed from Opal Floyd due to her families long commitment to market farming here in Pekin and that they had been out of it for so long and much of their seed is no longer viable. Opal only had this Pimento and a greasy bean left that where viable seed, luckily I have had luck germinating both and hope to offer them to the world for posterities sake, but with any luck they will perform well and taste great too!

My heart always breaks when I hear of lost varieties after a family saving them for so long. I'll be interested in that pepper when you've grown it out.
I wish we had more farm stands here. We do have some, but I imagine that in places with more room, there are many more.
