My wife asked me yesterday: "What is the difference in regular potatos and seed potatos?" I didn't have an answer for her. Are they just smaller??

The difference is that most seed potatoes are grown in fields which are certified as being free of potato virus. Regular potatoes are grown in fields where the growers pay big bucks to assure that their fields are free of potato virus and every other potato disease.

Gottcha. Is it time to plant potatoes? Yep! Last year, planted my early crop on 28 March and I'm at least 1 zone colder than you. Looks like it will still be another 10 days or so before I can get them into the ground this year. Martin
