There are actually several 'hummingbird' type moths that are interesting to watch. This year I have had tons of clearwing moths. They aren't skittish like hummingibrds, and you can get as close as you like. I have photos, if I knew how to post them. There is a great website that can help you identify almost anything you might find-www.whatsthatbug.com Of course, some of those interesting moths come from tomato hornworms, so you might not like them so much if they have been eating your plants.

It didn't look exactly like any of those, and I remember it being slightly larger, but I can't imagine it was anything else. Must have been a hummingbird moth. Thanks for the ID.
ag. - red peanut beans are bush beans, available from Sandhill. Thanks anyway.

You sure about that Johno?
Just cause when i ordered the ones i had they were advertised as half-runner beans. I beleive i got them from either Heirloom Acres or New England seed company. When i went to look for some last winter everyone who even had them listed were all sold out. If they're the same ones though i might just have to go check out Sandhill so i can get an order in early.
Thanks for the info.. Dave

I'm not sure about anything! But Cornell and the University of Georgia also call them bush beans.

Did they climb at all when you grew them? How tall were they? Universities and seed catalogs aren't always right...
