Thanks hiven, I will be watching to hear you talk more about that. I have a friend from Finland but guess they do not have that day either. Is Sinterklass like our Santa Claus?

It is similar, Swisscharrd, the only different with Santa Claus is their clothing. The sinterclass here is picture as having a long hat and with robe (also has white beard) and his helper is "Zwarte pit" which according to the story, they were from Spain... we celebrate the Sinterclass on the 5 December, usually for each nuclear family or according to how they arrange it (can be joined with friends/family to form a bigger group). We have not arrange for this celebration personally as we don't have children yet but did participate it once or twice before. The twist is, we also celebrate Xmas on 25Dec, everybody get present (including adult) and the children also get present again (!) which dig another hole for the parent's/grand parent's wallet . By old and new year, we also get together, this time it is even bigger group (of 3 or even 4 generations), more like big family get together and having party. this one usually start pretty late and ended with setting firecrackers on the appointed area or at the street (we don't do firecrackers)... Ohhh this is one of the horrible night as the noise is so irritating (both for human and pet/animal) and it will only end at 1 am (officially!). Last year, people set firecrackers till 3 am...terrible! This is the dangerous time of vandalisme as they will (sometimes) set mail boxes with firecraker, damage windows, etc. Sad isn't it ? it meant to give a bit of festive feeling by allowing firecracker but... Tell me about your Xmas celebration, Swisscharrd ?

Welcome, SwissCharrd.
That old photo from the 80s, or maybe mid-70s, is cool. The one with the dude with the Afro-perm. LOL. Cool.
You have a good lookin' family. Enjoy life.
