So if I put the bin in an uninsulated porch that is heated just enough to keep the pipes from freezing, they will be fine. TY Alan.  |

OK, I think I understand. I'm building a tiny system, size of a large shoebox. I've got holes in the bottom and I was going to set it inside of a second box for drainage with a couple rocks to hold it up. I have sphagnum moss for the moment. I've been saving dinner scraps for a couple days, enough for about an inch of material.
So, a couple inches of moss topped by an inch of scraps? Mix in or no?
How long before I should separate out the castings?
I understand what "anaerobic" means. But if I don't put it on my plants, how should I dispose of it? Can I make it aerobic somehow?
I'm using leftover fishing worms from the store.
