I recently discovered a rather good private collection of seeds in europe, and amongst them were two varieties that stand out amongst the others.

Sky Tracker- a giant of a plant that is 5 meteres high or more that's 18 to 20 foot high, I shall have the get a ladder to train it up the side of the house and tie it in as I go.
It has loads of long slim tomatoes on it.
The other one was a Polish tomato called (Column) which is also another tall one 7 foot at least, and a solid column of tomatoes from floor to top of long slim tomatoes, so many tomatoes you could hardly see the leaves, of nice sweet flavor.

Another strange tomato was a smaller bush tomato called (Siberian Finger) which bears long 12 cm tomatoes just like a finger on it, so there you are for anyone who likes to have his fingers in so many pies-now's your chance ;D
all of these tomatoes have been ordered and I should have the seed by just a couple of weeks more.

The list was so large I was astounded more than a thousand varieties of tomatoes on it, I have ordered fifty of them straight away which will quickly be followed by another thirty as soon as the first lot arrive.

There are lots of amazing rarities on it that I have never heard of before, and I shall be gradually working my way through them over the next few months until spring.

Things like- Renas Turban, Metschsta Lubitela, Lutschij is Lutschih,
Giant Krasnij,Dvorzovy,Hembacher Scharlidefell, all of them very large tomatoes.

Sounds like you found a lot of cool varieties. I like the sound of the Siberian Finger. A 20 ft mater? Wow!

wow, they sound fascinating! are these supposed to be heirlooms?

That is one tall tomato. I'd say my regular vining maters reach about 8feet tall normally. I have heard of people training tomatoes as fans against south facing walls and them reaching the roof line. Cool.

As far as I can tell 99% of them are heirlooms, and the person in question is a member of the SSE in the USA for several years also, the reason I have ordered at least fifty varieties from him with more to follow shortly afterwards- is because the bloke is 70 years old now-like me, and you never know how much longer you can last out after seventy, so I though I would get them now whilst the going was good, I probably wont grow them all next season but at least I will have them in stock for when I want to to.

As for the 20 feet ones, they are probably a pain to harvest... but good for one's ego and to impress the neighbours...

Looks like a ''black'' to me this finger one. And a form I love, although finger is a bit of a stretch...

now, the reeal stuff: how to become your friend?? get the hint??

Hopefully-I should have plenty of seeds to give away at the end of next season, of both the sky one and the finger one-all being well, so everybody who wants to have a try at them will be able to,
I suppose that the sky one could also be grown on the ground as a layered type and rooted along the whole stem, you could start it off near your back door and train it to go down the garden.
