Today I recieved the 2009 OFA and noticed they had an article about tomatoes...It is titled"Tomato Love"written by Brian Bell.To my surprise it featured none other than two very popular people here:Dan and Val...it is a very good article, several pages long, and gives you a real insight into Dan and Val and what they are doing..A real must-see...

Wow.. We got famous people here? Now i wish i had a copy of OFA... any way you can scan that article and send me a copy of it GE? Think it would be something D&V could use on their new blog. Anyways... now i just got to remember to look for OFA when i'm out christmas shopping. Do they still only have one issue a year? If so i should still be able to find a copy at the book section of some of the stores. Thanks for the post... Dave

Dave,I don't have a scanner yet...But the OFA still does come out once a year, and you should still be able to get a copy in bookstore and magazine shops. If you can't find it ,let me know,I'll copy mine and send it to you. It'd 2009 edition. By the way,the OFA prediction for our parts of the country is for a hot dry summer. The rgional predictions say rain off and on,so it might be a good summer this coming year.

Dave, I think Dan has it scan in the albums. Will check with him when he gets back in and post a link if he has. By the way, don't brag us up to much - it might swell our heads and then we'll never be able to stand up once we get down in the gardens. LOL Glad you enjoyed the article, greeneyes and I hope it inspires other to do what we are doing.
Cheers, Val (and Dan) Grungy and (grunt)

Great article Dan.. you forgot to mention us over here at homegrown.. but i still loved the piece.
Too darn many pop up ads over there at the OFA... but it was worth it.

Full of work (okay labor) just like it was before they did the interview. By the way it took 18 months from the original interview to the publishing of the article, so we didn't really get into BHG at the time. Cheers, Val (grungy)

Dan, great article!
I knew you were freezing your seeds, but I had no idea that it would increase the longevity that dramatically.
Good info in the articles. BRAVO!!

It's great to see you guys getting published by a big name like that! Everybody be sure to write in to OFA and let them know how much you appreciated the article, maybe we can get them in there again or even some of the rest of us who write articles, it would for sure be some good promotion.
Congrats guys!

This was a wonderful article in the OFA. Dan was the one that suggested that I join this forum and I am forever grateful to him for his knowledge and kindness. His website is interesting and has a wonderful collection of pictures in the album.
