Cosmic Purple Carrots -> Burning Throat?

this is interesting about the cosmic purple carrot and the burning throat reaction. i was just reading the Wild Garden Seed catalog and they had a problem in 2000 with their customers complaining of 'throat clenching bitterness' from one bite of their delicata squash that year. the story's here:
