I know it won't last long, but the first spring-like days have arrived here. It's warm and thundering. Tulips and daffodils are peeking out. I wish it would stay like this instead of getting cold again... What about where you are?

A foot and of snow and they keep on threatening that it will be rising. I sure hope they are wrong.

About a foot of snow here too in the lowlands and about -10C and clear blue skies. A perfect day for a ski in other words (cross-country)! Shame I have to be at work! And the sun's rising now at about 0930 0900 (it's changing quick now). Only a few weeks to go and we'll have longer days than the rest of you.

I could sure use those longer days! We live in a valley, and the ridge to the east delays morning sun by about an hour.
I forgot to say in my original post - My brother-in-law got stung by a honeybee yesterday. And I recieved a bug bite of unknown origin. Those are sure signs of spring!

Here in Slovenia it is still quite windy and cold, but the days are getting longer and spring is just about to arrive (or so I hope). Only two days ago the sun was shining and I spent the whole day outside in the garden, but now the sky is dark again. I can't wait for that lush green color that comes with early spring...

It's going to be 50F here today. At least some of the snow will melt. Spring is still a long time away for us.

Flowerpower, sorry for the stupid request, but could you perhaps convert that into degrees Celsius? I have no idea if that is warm or cold

Iva, 50F is 9C, so mild temperatures for the northeastern U.S./Southeastern Canada this time of year.
Penny, are you getting rain today? They are warning here of flooding. Buffalo, NY had all kinds of flood warnings on the tv last night. My yard already has a small 'river' running through it. A couple of days of these mild temps and rain and I may need hipwaders, lol
But yeah, back to -12C by Saturday night. Geez I hate Winter...

We're about the same as bluelaceredhead cause I guess we're in a similar zone. Though she is a lucky ducky that can grow all sorts of cool stuff! compared to us. I just saw that you are a lot warmer than you've been in years? Where were you before? Yup, I think they're calling for 7C today followed shortly after by minus double digits again. Sigh. Spring is just around a long corner consisting of the rest of Feb then March.

*sigh*
It doesn't feel like Spring outside, but inside I have a bad case of Spring Fever. Can't sit still. lol I want to smell the dirt outside and see no more white stuff.
We are having an average of -9 C temps all week, and more snow forecasted almost every day this week.

Here in southern Indiana last week we had about a foot of snow, then that quickly melted as we have had beautiful weather the last couple of days. I even worked up a sweat in the garden. We know that it won't last, but it is nice to accomplish a few things while it does.
