I just had to tell someone... I bought a new hanging Shoplight today; the T8 energy efficient type, to start seeds under.. As well as bag of organic seed starter mix... and a tray with a dome... A small start to the new garden, but it was all on sale so why not? My old hanging shoplight went to the landfill when we moved. The ballast was going and it wasn't worth replacing; it was afterall, about 15 years old. Cost me approximately $1 a year that one did. I have a few of my better transplant trays somewhere?? Possibly in a storage tote in one of the sheds?? And I know I packed a large canvas mail bag of containers for final transplant/growing in, but I think they are still at the farm of the couple who bought our horses and heritage turkeys? I know they aren't here, yet. So at least I can get started with a few things once I unpack about 50 more boxes to make room in the front porch, LOL A far cry from days years gone by, but I'll love every minute of it just the same.

A new start, with new lights. Sounds exciting to me.

Good going, Wendy. Knowing you there will be spots all over with something new growing in them, this summer. <smiles>

Hey Blue. I bought some new shop lights last weekend at Crappy Tire too. Went up for dog food, and came back with lights (on sale). Good thing my other half is used to that kind of thing. But I can't wait to set up my seeding station this year too. It always puts one in a good 'spring' kind of mood, even with 3 feet of snow/ice/rain outside.

Sammy, you bought 3? Going big time this year huh? Jim, it's not that difficult. The old one I had was a plug in shop light suspended from a two-by-four which was attached to a two tier stand made of rough lumber. It wasn't worth moving, so I'm starting over. Didn't look like much, but it was functional and inexpensive to build.
