FP, I found a tag for Jacob's Ladder at the edge of the woods if I remember correctly. There's something coming up there through the leaves.
Yesterday we dug out some poorly placed cedars. He also wanted to get rid of a little fir tree, but I found it a new home at the edge of the yard instead of in the middle.
Slowly slowly...

Well if anyone in Canada doesn't want their lilies, send them to me! hehe I'm such a lily freak. I've even made a plea on the internet to "save" the Easter lily. Usually people just toss them, pot and all, and I think that is such a huge waste. I tell people to "guerrilla garden" the Easter lilies instead of tossing them, if they don't have the space to plant. I even said I would take them just so they wouldn't get put into the garbage.
The only ones I don't have yet are Martagon, true Tiger (with the black stem bulbils), the native Canadian types and the Oriental/Trumpet mixes they call Orienpet. Some of those can get 6 feet or taller! My tallest is only 4.5 feet called "Salmon Cream" I think. I just love digging them up to see all the bulbs and tons of baby bulbs. Bulb scale cloning propagation is fun too but they take a couple of years to bloom. I'll have a boatload of "Lollypop" first time bloomers I think this year and enough to share probably for 2010.
I'm only starting to get where I can share veg seeds but have tons of flowers and will be happy to give some away once I get them all cataloged. Got clumping Geraniums everywhere. A good majority of them I got for free from other local gardeners. One lady was going to toss a giant clump of Stella d'Oro daylily, but I asked if I could take it and wow I have a ton of those now. I couldn't believe she was just going to throw them in the garbage!! Another person gave me a plastic grocery store bag full of half rotted Iris tubers but I was able to save most after trimming.

Sounds like you need a Garden Freecycle. We have one in Ottawa called plantcycle and it's where I recycle any plants I don't want. I really would like some native lilies and have a potential client that has the true Tiger with the black stem bulbils but she also has lots of lily beetle.

Oh I posted something on a local internet message board about getting something like that together and got zero replies.

Remind me about the tiger lilies come early August and I'll save you the bulbils and send them to you people that want them. Mine throw out oodles of them every year and I find that (oh shame on me) I keep yanking out little lily bulbs every time I weed that bed.
