I grew Kırkağaç melon this year in my zone 5b community garden plot. The plant had two very beautiful melons and unfortunately someone or something thieved the largest of the two melons. The remaining melon was small and had to be picked rock hard before the frost. I just now checked it, it has softened up and is actually pretty good. I wish I could have tasted the larger one, this melon could be really really good. This year I will try again in my new backyard zone 6b garden. I also grew Yabari King melon and Hokkaido Black Watermelon. Yabari King was just ok and Hokkaido Black was good but very seedy. The voles liked Yabari King though. One of the melons got munched (hollowed out) and I'm wondering if that is what happened to the larger Kırkağaç.
