Someone mentioned Red Zebra as a nice "stripey" tomato and I have to agree. For me, production and taste are very good.

Bringing back an old post, I have to say I agree with the fact there is a confusion with the name. The one I grew years ago was from Tand M, also called Tigerella. The skin was so tough you could not break it and chew it all with your teeths. The interior was OK, nothing to write a song about... I have seen the name in other catalogs, and it was not the same small tomato, saladette type than the one I grew.
And I am growing Copia now...

This yr I have Copia, Tiger-like and Red Zebra. It'll be interesting to see the differences & similarities between them.

Green Zebra: Decent but not near as good as Cherokee Green Vintage Wine: Awful, mushy, worthless Pink Tie Dye: Almost as good as Indian Stripe

In the past I've tried Stripes Tigerella (red with gold stripes) - very pretty but too soft for me Green Zebra - one of my favourites Black Zebra - good looker, okay flavour Bicolours Regina's Yellow - very nice Lucky Cross - fine flavour but shy producer Burracker's Favorite - as for Lucky Cross
In this year's garden, with any luck Berkeley Tie Dye Regina's Yellow

So how did the Copia taste? It certainly looks nice. This year I have Green Zebra and Red zebra. Green Zebra - Delicious, productive, but for some reason kind of late for me. A great tomato. Red Zebra - Beautiful, productive, but the taste isn't there for me. Earlier than GZ, in fact, very early. Skin too thick for me. GZ also has a kind of thick skin, and I always get black spots on them. Anybody know what these are? I just skin them a bit, I love the taste. I definitely want to try the black zebra. Any other zebras out there? Happy Gardening, Tom

I grew the original Copia this year, lots of delicious big beefsteak orange with red stripes. I got about 40 pounds per plant.

G'Day Tom
There is a White Zebra too but I've not grown it nor do I have seeds. Should be interesting though.

There's also just plain Zebra. Yellow with red stripes. Grew it last year and wasn't overly impressed with it. Had the same problem as many other yellow and red bi-colors in that it didn't have a very long shelf life.

I second martin on this shelf life thing. Same with the blacks, all the ones I grew up to now. The black plum are better, but they have a short life for plums.

The best for me in "stripped" (not bi-color) tomato is Beauty queen.

The best I have used is chop sticks with a duct tape flag. Next year I will duck tape the name to the stake. Duct tape is CLEAR for over a year on some of my markers.
