ROTFL I hate to say it, but we've already "extended" ourselves a wee bit. They had some trees that were keeling over and we went ahead and felled them. The owners don't live there and the farmer who rents is a friend...
On a serious note, they are cousins of our "cross the dirt road" neighbors and the two branches of the family seem to have some sort of feud going on. It sure is interesting living in a place where you are the only one with a different last name for MILES around!

I promised a photo about my biggest plum on the right : On left there are some "quetsche d'Alsace" to compare. MnjRutherford : I was asking myself if it could be the Italian one ? Finally no, the middle weight is 55 g more than the Italian (35 g). The flesh is less sweet than the Alsacian one and less ferm. ...mystery !

Wow! Those plums on the right are monsters BioRag! Even so, the ones on the left are closer in appearance to the ones I've seen in the farmer's markets back in California. HEY! Castanea! Can you add something to this conversation? Do you know what I'm talking about?
Castanea lives in the same general area I used to live BioRag. He's familiar with the markets I frequented. He's even on the trail of some VERY cool carrots I used to get there. Monster carrots with such sweet delicately crisp flesh, it could make you cry.

I could totally go for some of those peaches myself BioRag. Blood Peaches! I would never have imagined. People, can you imagine serving a pie or cobbler made with these? Or a tart... ice cream or a sorbet? A Charlotte would be awesome! I can envision my freckled little fellows chomping into them with the juices cascading down their wee little chins and dripping into the grateful dirt at their twitchy little feet. Wow. =o)

Those do look tasty. I had some that looked similar years ago, and my mouth is watering.
I love your orchard pictures.

If you haven't given them all away, I'd like to try a few pits myself.
