Tom and I are now in Gembloux, Belgium, 50 kilometers south of Brussells. We had day 1 of a two days seminar, and it is going very well.
Last night we were received in the great room of Brussels city all, on LA GRANDE PLACE, probably the most beautiful square in the world.
The funny thing is our belgian organizers were as mesmerized as we were at the grandeur of the room, they had never seen it, it is an honor usually reserved to royalty and presidents, prime ministers etc...
Tom was extatic, he could hardly believe it. We will have pictures to show, but I have never seen anything like it.
Today we are in a technical institute, hosts of the city of Gembloux, and the place is 66 acres of pure beauty, a rare horticultural paradise with 8000 square meters of glass greenhouses and natural and sculpted plants all over the place, very little grass. Gosh, we are so cheap in North America, I feel we have no sense of beauty.
Tom is wonderfully passionate and it is quite exciting to be at his side, seeing him having, at last, an admiring audience for him. His name is very big here and his creations are all over, even a few meters away from where we teach. Right outside the building is a demonstration garden and 2 of his tomatoes are there. This was not planned. People are comingto the workshop with samples of his tomatoes that they grow.
He is interesting people in breeding like crazy, we already have a few new european members here because of the workshop. I make sure that HG is well known, do not worry...
Love to all
Michel
