A few weeks ago I loaded up my new hovabator genesis incubator with 10 Easter Egger eggs and thought I'd give this indoor incubation thing a second try. The eggs were in the automatic turning machine so all I had to do is add some water from time to time, I really didn't think to much about it because of my last failure using a styrofoam incubator and so sometimes I didn't get to add the water to the humidity trough until a day or two late. Well this morning I got woke up to the sound of loud peeps! Six eggs have hatched so far and two more are ready to hatch! I highly reccomend this incubator, I figured that I had already messed up pretty bad, but I suppose not!

Congrats, Alan. I still use a styrofoam bater with mixed results. I have had complete failures and some excellent hatches, too and the failures always really get to me. I hate to hear life, just to see them die in their shells and not emerge. I'm impressed with your chicken mothering abilities!

Mostly eggs Grungy, but I'm not opposed to eating them either! I like me some barbecued chicken! MMMMM. But mostly for eggs.
There is one of the 18 that thinks it has to follow me everywhere outside including to the greenhouses!

If you want to BBQ them, make sure they're young ones. If you make stock or soup out of older birds, throw the feet in, as they add flavor and thicken it, too.
