We've been picking some nice tomatoes out of the greenhouse the past two weeks or so and selling them as soon as we can get them, there is still a ton of fruit out there approaching the breaker stage and I can proudly say that most of it is already spoken for!
The co-op bought about 50 lbs worth this week alone which isn't bad at $1.50 a lb wholesale.
I know I keep promising new pics, i've just been increadibly busy with trying to get the barn and the two tractors restored, the woods surveyed to go into a wildlife program, setting up and distributing info about my new CSA, selling produce locally, keeping the co-op supplied, and doing some greenhouse/market farming consultation work and so forth, though I'll soon enough (too soon) have a bit of a break to put up some new pics, do some new research articles, and be online a bit more.
This week in the greenhouse, I pruned out the newest growth and toped the plants down about 8-10" as well as pulled any new suckers and got rid of the small tomatoes which I knew weren't going to ripen correctly, I also root pruned everything pretty heavily and discovere that this method of producing ripe tomatoes faster definetly works, I also took note that my F2 seed saved from these celebrities is huge, larger than any tomato seed I've seen before, I suppose due to the amount of TLC these things have gotten, big babbies, sometimes their house is more comftorable than mine, and if I had a little army cot, I'd probably be out there asleep in front of the wood stove right now.
