Our season starts Wednesday. Husband doesn't have a licence to hunt turkey. Why would he need to?? We've raised Bourbon Reds for years now.
However, seems one of the butchers at the grocery store asked him yesterday about permission to hunt turkey here..I have no problem with it unless of course they shoot something that lives here like one of the horses or one of my Turkeys...
What kind of season and what kind of restrictions to hunt Turkey in your neck of the woods??
And oh, I've just sent an email to DH to ask him to join here.

I have no idea if there is a spring season here for turkey. I found out that the state releases pheasant every yr just so people can hunt them. Seems 2 of the areas are very close to me. Unfortunately, one of the males did not make it. Seems that he met a fox or coyote. I would say fox. Nothing left but a few tail feathers and wings.
Blue, are the baby turkeys hatched yet?

This weekend should be the first of the turkey hatches here? I candled last night, but turkey eggs are very thick shelled and speckled. Makes candling difficult. I tossed 3 out of 13. I'd be happy if half of those were viable and hatched. Two more weeks worth of hatches after that, although they will be smaller hatches as the 13 originals represented two weeks worth of eggs. She's just about done laying for the year. She's starting to limp, which usually signals that she's tired and going into molt. But when I get some poults (baby turkeys) I'll definitely take pics and post them. They are soooo ugly-cute.
