Bring 'em down here this fall. We're covered up with Thumper, and nobody hunts them anymore.

I know that to be true. We have almost stopped because of the coyotes and people building houses everywhere. My brother had his last trained beagle died last winter and i knew he would have to get a new one lol. We use to keep 5 or 6 trained beagle plus their pups but as old age and wore out bodies we started slowing down. Now days all the young hunter want to kill deer instead of rabbit.

Sadly, people are moving away from all the consumptive outdoor sports. I just had to help Friend Wife with some research, and hunting, overall, is down by more than a million participants, from 15+ to 14+. Fishing, which held steady for decades at about 60-million, is down to 44-million.
The primary cause is, of course, the fact that the number one cash crop in America is subdivisions, and the perception is that there are too few places to hunt. Add in the anti-hunting attitude that permeates our society, and it becomes understandable.
Ironically, target shooting is way up. Just counting rifle, handgun, and shotgun sports, there are just under 20-million participants. Excluded from that number are those involved in specialty arms such as muzzleloaders and airguns. There are likely a million or so of them.
Paintball is the real oddity. Although the fastest growing of them, it is not counted as a shooting sport. And the typical participant actually fits the liberal, anti-gun, anti-hunting mold. So, while you and I and about 25-million others (assuming a 1/3 cross-over) are running around promoting gun safety and ethical hunting practices, the folks who stand against us are busy shooting at each other.
But, then again, I've never been able to fathom the liberal mind.
