Pugs sorry about this. Animals with young pups ....... sorry you ended up with a damaged finger. Hope it feels better soon and that harmony can be restored among your pets too. Just about everything involves the use of fingers; sounds painful. Hope it mends quickly.

Jo,
Thanks for asking. It has healed enough for me to type. I still don't know if the nail will grow back or not.
The pups are beginning to walk and play. They still sleep most of the time.

Nail bed injuries can be tricky things and some injuries can last longer than others. A calcium supplement, or daily dose of yogurt will help quite a bit. Nice dark greens will also improve the quality of the healing. My problem is picking at the injury. If you can avoid that, you'll also improve the healing. Good thing you have the pups to keep your mind off the injury!

Jo beat me to it ... was wondering how you were doing, Pugs. Glad to hear you're having improvement. I shut my thumb in the truck door a year and a half ago. Was in an awkard position and couldn't reach the handle to open the door ... so I just gave it the "tought guy yank" ... boy, did that ever hurt. Lost the nail and it took a year for the nail to grow out. It's still not right. The part that was really pinched in the door doesn't grow together ... kind of like in two layers. So, I'm guessing it'll grow back out. Maybe you'll have a funky looking nail, too. Hey ... if we ever get a chance to meet we can see who has the funkiest looking nail.

Hi all,
Well, the nail is growing back. It will still be a few months before I know how it will really look.
Update on the pups. They are doing great. The different folks who were interested in 3 of the pups have all backed out, so I'm hunting for new buyers. The are Parson Russell Terriers (which used to be called Jack Russell Terriers here in the US - which don't look like Jack Russell Terriers in the rest of the world, go figure). I'm keeping two of them for a while. A male and a female, both show/breeding quality, the other boy and girl will go to pet homes.
Finally, I still won't be posting much. After a months vacation and a couple of weeks visiting my mother, I've come to the realization that I need to stop trying to do so much and just get caught up - with yard work, house work, remodeling, cleaning up, organizing, pets, life, and on and on. I want to do so much and don't seem to be enjoying any of what I'm doing and not doing any of it well.
I'll try to check in every few days, so if you really need to get a message to me, please PM me. I'll most likely miss it if you leave a note for me in a thread somewhere.
I still have the tomato seeds listed under the trades thread, and some extra naked squash seeds if anyone wants some. I don't remember the name right off. Don't hesitate to ask me for something and don't write me off. I'm just trying to focus my attentions on getting caught up with everything this year.
Pugs - who misses all of you

Genuine Jack Russell terriers, have little short legs, because they were originally bred to go down rabbit and badger holes and chase out the subjects. They tend to become very nasty snappy little dogs when they grow up, and you really have to watch them as far as children are concerned as four out of five children that are bitten by dogs in the UK it is usually a jack russell that has done it, and often bite their owners too,
On a jovial note- a friend of mine used to have one, and he always used to take it to bed with him at night and it used to sleep at the end of the bed on the floor-he also used to take out his false teeth and put them in a glass of water overnight under the bed-so that he could just reach out first thing in the morning and pop them in his mouth as he got up,
One night he heard a sort of lapping noise of water, and then a horrible crunching noise, when he got up to investigate it appears that the dog got a bit thirsty in the night and decided to lap water out of his tooth glass-then found his teeth in there and decided they were as good as a bone to crunch on and crunched up all his teeth. I went to see him the following morning and he came to the door all gummy without any teeth in, and related the sorry story to me, I could not stop laughing for several days about it.
