Yes, potato tops and tomato bottoms. It's a way of forcing potatoes to concentrate on producing seeds rather than tubers. It's a bit extreme, but if growing spuds on bricks (my next plan) doesn't work I may well try it.

I would love to get hold of He Man seed, (no innuendo intended there, honestly), I am grafting onto Maxifort & Estamino, both rootstocks appear to be identical from what I've seen so far regarding habit & leafshape. I wonder if Estamino is simply the variety name of Maxifort in the European market?, Maxifort is not sold here. Rootstock seed seems to be ridiculously expensive so it would be great to have a variety which will produce saveable seed. I found Maxifort & Estamino strike very easily from cuttings so I only need a few seed early in the year, then I can increase plant numbers by taking cuttings. I will try & save seed from these rootstocks but they are F1 so may not breed true. However, loads of varieties which are sold as F1 seem to work well from saved seed so may be worthwhile. Perhaps, I'll just get a few rogue phenotype, any advice from knowledgeable breeders / genetically savvy people here welcome.

Is there a source for seeds of this rootstock varieties? Couldn`t find one. I wonder what species or crosses these rootstocks might be.
