Janet, be careful around the stove. I'm prone to kitchen accidents too so I can relate. Glad your granddaughter liked the fruits of your labours (pun intended) It makes it all worthwhile when your family appreciates what you've created.

I will! I can't figure out how anyone can make apple butter on a stove and control the popping on ones self. I was thinking maybe I should not stir the sauce while cooking as that is when it popped up on me. Does anyone want to offer any information of how others do this? I am trying to figure out what else I can do with these apples other than can some for pies and apple butter. Anyone?

Make applesauce and freeze in small containers for snacks or lunches. Baked Apples with brown sugar and cinnamon for dessert on cold evenings. Apple Crisp and Apple Crumble. As a topping for Waffles with ice cream or whipped cream. Apple Cider and Apple Wine.
