Grunt, your 2008 fruit looks like my second plant in 2007, the one grown in the pot: Smoother and more regularly conical than the other one. But your leaves are not the same shapes and appear more rugose than mine. So, a bit difference and very nicely refined, in my opinion. Good going! Also, your 2009 plant has even more healthy leaf appearance. And I hope it is seeds from those two years that you sent to Darth. If so, I'm going to ask Darth to send me a few seeds. Damn, those are very handsome plants with beautiful fruit. Good going, man. pv

Bill: I think what Darth has is fro the 2008 grow out (the first photo. I have a few more of those and a good number of seeds for the 2010 grow out (the second photo). I can send you some of each if you would like.

Here is the only picture I have of that plant: My fruit shape is like the one on the right side. Some are only an inch long. My tallest plant was maybe 18 in tall. ok I gotta start chores right now. I'll write a bit more later.

What FlowerPower describes is the size and shape of the original "Little Red Bullet." The tomatoes in the picture from 2006 are a bit distorted because that's the lowest bunch of tomatoes on that plant, and rested against the ground during development. Most of the rest of them on the bush were as FlowerPower describes.

I ordered some corn from them last year. They certainly take their time to send the seeds though, since they are only hobbyists like many of the people on this forum. It took about a month to get my seeds, but they did come. I do wonder if something happened to the main guy though... I tried to order some more seeds for this upcoming spring, and never received seeds or a reply. It's probably been at least two months.

I received a package of seeds today from the Long Island Seed Project. I am thrilled with them. The portions were generous, the genetics are diverse, and there were even extra seeds included for adding to a couple of my land-races. I don't remember when I ordered them: It's been some time.

Jim, I think you should grow a few out. Toss it in a big pot. But I'll take the seeds if you aren't gonna use them. Thanks. And I can always send you back seed if you need it. Darth, cool. If you could save seed from a few fruit this season, I'd appreciate it. As you know, the variety is not totally stable. Save from the dwarf plants. But if I see one that grows tall and keeps the small fruit size, I'll be saving those separately. I think that would look so cool. lol I got mine from Grunt, it came with the collection and beleive me, there is some VERY nice stuff in that book!!! I am growing them out this year I will save many seeds and you are welcome to them!!

Ken Ettlinger 1372 Flanders Road Flanders, New York 11901
I purchased many many seeds from him. Like the stuff from Alan Bishop or Dan Grunt, the seeds leap out of the ground.
The website has been down and they haven't been taking new shares because they've just been too darn busy to fill them.
I sent an order by mail to Ken a few weeks ago with my FALL seeds. (Yes, I know...it's almost time to bite that bullet too). I told him to take his time. I didn't need them till July...It already arrived. However, he didn't have the artichoke seeds. Darn.
I also tried to get Alan Kapuler's artichoke seeds, but they aren't in the catalog this year either.
Anyone out there with a nice dinner plate size artichoke, have a heart, send me the seed.
I didn't order any tomato seeds, as Alan Bishop and Carolyn Male have sent me enough tomato seeds to trial for probably the next 20 years unless TEOTWAWKI, who is not a lady stops in to visit.
Lady: A well-mannered and considerate woman with high standards of proper behavior.
An avenging Goddess perhaps;

Just to re-boot this thread with the same question. Is the Long Island Seed Project still running? The website hasn't been updated in a long time, some really good stuff on there with lots of food for thought.

I believe it still is, but it seems to be running at a lesser capacity than it once was. I ordered some seeds a long time ago, and i never got them, and when i inquired Ken sent my money back and a nice apology. I believe he said he had been having trouble with his health, and hadn't had nearly as much time as he used to have. I don't know what the situation is now, but if your curious try sending them a quick email and see if they reply.

liseed website is still online. It is nearly 10 years that there is any outcome on their website. I heard rumours about it so I know there are probably not any longer in business. But who is paying for their website?
