one warning if you decide to 1. order them from there and 2. decied to order some of the other seeds. At least some packets (well at least one packet, the one I got) of the Fort Portal Bean got mixed up with the "Bantu Bean" so it may be a crapshoot if you want to get that one (I really want to try again with that when some new stuff comes into the zoo, it's a really pretty bean.)

Hi, Cortona sent me 34 Lupin Blanc A Gros Gratin. Mike, have you found the kind for coffee? I think these are the flour ones. Do you want to share?

Hi Holly, I'd definitely be interested in a swap. The seeds that I grew were the ones for coffee. There may be others since the story that goes with these is very strongly cultural. From the 8 plants that I grew, I got +200 seeds. That's not enough to do much coffee testing but it is enough to share and be able to do a goodly grow out next year. I'll pm my address. Cortona, pm me your address and I'll send some to you. There's some background info here in German and Italian - www.provincia.bz.it/caffeanterivo/default.aspRegards, Mike

Mike, have you found the kind for coffee? Here's some background on processing lupins for coffee- goo.gl/mxrlG. I haven't tried it yet and only have enough for a couple of small tests. Regards, Mike

cortona, That's excellent. Very fast compared to the packages that we send to my daughter who lives in Trieste. Yes, lupins cross. The most extensive information I've found is by Boguslav Kurlovich from the Vavilov Institute in St. Petersburg - lupins-bk.blogspot.com/holly, Received seeds today. Yes, I will send some of the harvest back to you. Thank you very much. Also for the surprise. I had to do a bit of googling but I assume they are these. If so, I was about to go looking for a pole variety since I normally grow bush varieties but have some room on a couple of our tomato towers so this saves a search. Regards, Mike

Yes, Berner Butter are pole beans. You can write to Sylvia Davatz at Solstice Seed to inquire more about them. I swapped her for some a few years ago, and have been growing them every since. A very tasty green bean and not bad dry either.
