Grunt, I wish I could be there to help you. September is no time to be off the farm/garden. I pray for your spontaneous remission, so that you can get on with the pears and watermelons.
Love, Holly

Hey Dan, I did Baby Blue Lentils this year and they are still sitting here on a tarp. So, how do you go about threshing them?
I've been sitting in the living room shelling beans. I have blisters on my blisters. I'm not bring lentils into the living room....Leo won't let me.
Please share any tips. By the way, I'm sending you these. No more lentils for me.
Thanks for letting us know how you are doing. I was just about to write, when I checked the board.
Regards, Holly

Holly: I've never grown lentils before either. let your beans and lentils get really dry, put them in feed bags, and stomp all over them = I usually do the individual finger thing with them too, but this year I am going to try and thresh them properly. The Ethiopian Lentils look more like mis-shapen peas than lentils, so I don't know just how well they are going to work threshing, but I am sure I will find out.

Dan, I admire the way that you make it seem short. I have never been a person that is any good at being sick. Your blog has given me courage to go and get the glass removed from my hand...well as soon as farming season is over. I'm not that brave!

Dated, eh? In the 60's, I was going to the Fillmore to hear groups like that. Does that date me? Foo, I've not been properly dated for years.
Clearly, the currently developing situation is much bigger than we had in the 60's and I am glad it's coming to a head. Technophobe that I am, I am grateful for the internet and cellphones, which have such an obvious part in this amorphous movement. What on Earth could the corporations, oligarchs, and superrich have thought would happen if they just kept tightening the screws? I've long wondered why it wasn't breaking out. Well, it seems to be time to fish, cut bait, or get out of the boat. Personally, I think those who neither fish nor cut bait will be bait. It will be interesting to see who among our "leaders" will see and hear and lead, if any.
"And the White Knight charges backward, and the Red Queen's lost her head, so remember what the Dormouse said, 'Feed your head, feed your head'".
Where is Walt Kelly? We need him now!
Keep on Truckin', Dan.
