She's a Jack Russell Terrier. Her 2nd litter. The first was a C section as there were only 2 pups and they were too big for natural birth. This time there are at least 3, so natural birth.
I'm having a difficult time waiting. Luckily her birthin' bed is next to the computer, so I'll be on-line most of the day.

Three boys so far and one girl. Reea is acting like there is one more to delivery. She keeps panting, so I'll keep watch.
The girl was the latest one, biggest one, a breech and needed help in birthin'. Glad I was here to help as I hate to lose a pup, but especially the only girl in the litter.
They are so cute. I'll post pics in few days.

Final count, 3 boys, 1 girl.
Reea is tried and I'm beat, even though she did all of the work.
I'm off to watch a little TV, have a bite to eat, a drink and then to bed.
Have a nice evening all.

Val,
Thanks for asking, I should have pictures tomorrow (Saturday). My neighbors have a digital camera and they will take them for me. The pups look like little sausages right now and won't change much for a few weeks other than getting bigger.
Reea is being a great mother. Last litter, what with the C-section she never really bonded much with the pups. She did a good job raising them, but there is a big difference in her attitude this time.
Now I'll have to go read how to post pictures.

Okay, where are the pics? It's Saturday! Puppies are just so darn cute, even when they look like little rats! I had a stray cat last year who had kittens under my desk (why I now have so many cats!) and it was really something to see them being born. They looked like little rats too, but they grow so fast. Now they are just brats ;D

The pics get taken tonight, so I'll post then. Also, I had a real good look at them this morning and I was wrong on the sex count. Three girls and one boy! Woo-Hoo! Feel free to make jokes about not being able to tell male from female. Pugs

At least you didn't tell us "It's a father, I'm a girl!". As one proud poppa announced to everyone he phoned.

Dan,
Thanks for the laugh. I needed it.
The neighbors spent the day in the big city and didn't get back in time to get pictures tonight, so I'll get them tomorrow.

OK, lets see if I can get pictures here. The boy is on the right, the rest are little girls. The one to the left of the boy was the biggest one of the bunch and is eating up a storm! I took them to the sire's owner and she tells me that they are all very good pups. We'll see as they grow which, if any, are show quality. Pugs

aaah, they are so cute. Look more like little piggies than rats, especially with those little pink noses. I love how when they are babies, they all just kinda pile together.

Thanks Sammy,
The noses will turn black as they get older.
One of the funny things with Russell pups is their smell. It isn't a typical puppy smell, but kinda skunky, pungent, but not bad. They are just starting to get that smell. I've never smelled it in another breed.
