Raymundo, last year we didn't have much heat, so I took some bricks and put them on the South West Side of the melons (right on top the black plastic.) They helped keep the melons warmer in the evening, so I finally got them in.

Holly, I've been covering them at night with a woven plastic material called insulnet which has probably helped a bit but bricks would probably be even better. I have plenty of good sized rocks which I've dug out of garden beds so I'll place them around the plants. The days have been warm recently, up to 30°C (~85°F) and just this week the nights have been warmish too but cooler weather is forecast to return next week. Thanks for the suggestion.
