i am really enjying all these posts. i have used seeds of many varieties and sources and had only a few actually turn into roots. i planted some japanese long rooted varietie last summer and did not get a root of any size . i let them go to seed and have eaten a large amount of them and i must say the seed pods are quite good. i have saved some for seed. a friend gave me some long white ones a few years ago i sliced some and seasoned with various sesonings, added some oil and stirred fried them and they were very good. i am trying the spanish as well as other varieties and hoping for better results than in the past. i appreciate all the responses to my original post. jon

I think Rowan's rat tailed radish is one grown for its long tender seed pods. A friend grw them a few years ago and said they were nice - but I've never tried them T
