Are Yin Yang and Black Calypso the same bean?
I have become fascinated by heirloom beans. I hope to have a collection like Mr. Grunts one day. I wish I would have had the chance to trade with him.

I've seen quite a surprising number of beans with that pattern all with different names. While i haven't seen them all in person, it is my opinion that they are all related and perhaps descendent of the same original variety, but i believe them all the have slight differences.
You can also add to that list: Orca Beans Vaquero Beans New Mexico (Black) Appaloosa (the variety i have) Cave Bean (variations on the name)

What Ive seen on the market, Calypso, Orca, and Yin Yang are the same. New Mexico Appaloosa and Cave....Im not so sure...but that is the problem with various names being applied to various genotypes with some inconsistency. Jim
