Went to my cardiologist last week since I have been having sporadic episodes of angina. Left with prescriptions for nitroglycerine tablets and a beta blocker. He is scheduling yet another stress test, and depending on the results, possibly another heart catherization to determine if I need surgery/stent, etc.
I am not fond of having holes put in my body that God didn't put there, but I guess it comes with the territory.
I have COPD also, and use home oxygen, but I have learned to adapt to gardening , etc., and dealing with that. Also take insulin for diabetes, but that's not a problem - pretty much routine with watching my diet, etc.
It is frustrating to not be able to do things that I want to do due to the heart issues - get tired VERY easily, so have to either rely on others, or not do them.
I do have some rather lovely meds for depression, though - so I guess that's a plus ;D
Just needed to vent, and I did have a piece of cheese with this whine.....

Just remember you've got good friends here in support of you and take things easy when you can. You can vent about this here any time you want. My mother has a lot of the same problems you do along with some bad back and neck problems, so I understand completly where you are coming from, I wish there was more I could do for folks like you and my mother to make you feel better, but support is a big part of it and like I said we are all here to be understanding friends!

Yes, Gerald there are some wonderful people here that help with the bad days. I'm bad for flying off the handle with the greatest of ease, but my friends here are always there to help me come back down to ground level. Thanks to them all, and if I can help you in the same way, pleez don't hesitate to contact me. Huggz

I can't imagine having to live with health issues like that, but judging from your posts you'll keep coming up with adaptive ways to keep doing what you like. And like the others have said, there's lots of people here to offer help and encouragement.

That's a lot to have to deal with, Gerald. I am sure that Sandra is a great help and very supportive but you have all of us, too, if you ever need us.
You could always take a page from Lav's book and do the master gardening thing. She got minions at least once, from what I remember. I'm sure they could put a hurt on some of the more strenuous gardening chores. ;D
Hang in there and stay positive.

OldGAredneck, hope and pray the Docs get your situation figured out, soon, and that everything turns out to be just a minor, temporary inconvenience.
BTW, Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a GREAT DAY!!

Winter is the hardest, cold weather seems to make that ol' ticker work just a bit harder. Stay warm, stay active and tough 'er out. As for those minions, heck, they just make ya madder 'n heck, like working with a lazy teenager.

Still waiting on my minion order from Acme Powdered Minions! Gerald - I hope you get to feeling better really soon.
As to the MG thing - call your extension office if you really run into issues where you can't finish something you started. Technically, MGs are supposed to come and teach something. But volunteer hours have to be met as well, and it's possible you could work something out with the MG folks. The minions I got were here because I taught a class on composting, and managed to get the newbies to turn my compost and spread it for me.

Can definitely sense that Spring is coming. Had a chemical cardiac stress test done this week, which was a bitch. Will find out the results this coming Wednesday. In the meantime, taking it very easy and keeping the nitro pills close at hand....
