houseodessey,
You may want to look into SpywareBlaster also. It's free and works very well.
Do you use Internet Explorer ? I'm a big fan of Firefox - also free. and between the anti-virus named in above post, Ad-aware, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, Zone Alarm, I have zero problems. & thats with kids !! ( They are severely restricted though.)
There is a website named Gibson Research where one will either get overwhelmed in 30 seconds or ( if your a techie ?sp ) will fall in love. He has many different programs offered for free that really protect your computer. Un- Plug n Pray, Socket Block, and others really work. I don't try to understand everything he is saying, so I'm just slightly overwhelmed. He does explain his free programs well enough for me to understand, so you will be OK. This is an area where I may be able to help a little, so if so, please let me know.
Regards, - Joe

houseodessey,
I just Googled Tomatoland & got their homepage, didn't try to go further, but the home page looked OK. I've never been over there before, so I really couldn't tell. Have you tried that way? Perhaps your shortcuts/ links got corrupted?
Just a thought.

Hi Joe:
I've been trying to get into tomatoville, not land. TV is reputed to ban willynilly so maybe that's the deal. I'm just concerned because of the redirection. I have 4 separate PC's that can't access TVille. It seems like an IP block, although I can not imagine why. Only my personal PC gets the weird redirects, though.
Tomatoland stopped working for me months ago. I forgot my password and just gave up after a few tries.
Thanks for the help and advice, though.

sounds like Misschka is redirecting you
you must have said something or have been associated with something that irked him or certain members of their circlejerk.
It doesnt have to be limited to something you said or did there. Apparently a TV membership entitles Mischka & Co to judge one's actions on the rest of the internet too.

Meh. No great loss. It's just weird that some of the redirects have swastikas involved. I thought it may have been someone who was against Mischka making a statement. At the end of the day, I really don't care, just as long as I don't have a problem with my machine.

I can access Tomatoville.com just fine.
I pasted your Google link into my browser and got three images, one of which is Blue's avatar.
Only one thing I know of that will cause this to happen. From within Internet Explorer (assuming you are using IE, if not, then FireFox or whatever browser you are using probably has a similar feature), you want to disable the ability to conduct a web search from the address bar. When this feature is enabled and you type in a web address that fails (say you typed in http://www.badwebaddress.com) then your browser will take that text string and use the default assigned search engine and run a search. It will then automatically display the results in your browser window.
In IE, you can check the status of this feature by:
1 - Click on the TOOLS menu. 2 - Click on the INTERNET OPTIONS menu item. 3 - From within the "Internet Options" dialog, click on the ADVANCED tab. 4 - Scroll down until you see a section heading named "Search from the Address bar" 5 - Click the radio button next to "Do not search from the address bar"
That will prevent this from reocurring.
I do find it interesting that it performs an "image" search on Google rather than a "web page" search. Don't have an answer for that one.
Good luck!

IF I need someone who's failed at life to talk trash about me Keith I'll be sure to ask you to chime in, otherwise how about you mind your own business and STFU, k? thanks. Houseodessey, it's people like kctomato (aka mule aka hortist aka olerist aka wakarusa aka oltv) that make false accusations about people being banned without notification. He certainly had plenty of warning when I banned his sorry arse. He and his merry little band of claptrap troll-groupies take a perverse delight in doing this sort of thing, traversing the 'net, looking to create conflict, much like Leland Gaunt in the movie "Needful Things". Back to your problem accessing my site, I responded to bluelacedredhead's PM at my site and have asked her to forward my suspicions as to what may be causing your problem. Should I be incorrect, please let me know and I will do my best to help you fix the problem. Edited to add: What Sandbar posted is what I suspect to be your problem. Thanks, Sandbar.

You know, Mischka, it's no wonder you have the reputation you have.
[UnaskedForAdvice] It would have been better for you to respond with a "classy" message rather than stooping to foul language. You know, you can distance yourself from the spiteful rhetoric of your critics by simply by being polite and tactful. I fully understand why you feel slighted, however, I would not have responded in the fashion you chose. You seem more than willing to help folks gain access to TV, so why can't you rise above your detractors and assume an air of decency and "kill them with kindness?" [/UnaskedForAdvice]
JMHO.

I don't get a "search from the address bar" notation when I follow SB's kind advice. But I'm tired and I'll look again tomorrow. I'm happy to know that I may not have a bug in my machine, though. Thanks to all and G'nite.

Oh, my bad.
I was talking about tomatoville, as I cut & pasted it to Google from this thread. Should have done that in my post to you also. Didn't realize there were so many tomato sites. So I got to the home page, but didn't try to go further.
Have you tried that? If you do & still can't get in, I'd suspect that 1: You do have a glitch in your system , or 2: they have an IP logger that for whatever reason is redirecting you. #2 is more probable.
If you can get in that way, the link you normally use is/has been corrupted or highjacked.
If you download Zone Alarm, and still have printer problems, I'll try to help. I had one heck of a time getting my wireless network to function with it, but now we print everything to one printer from 3 computers. So possibly some of my pain can help someone else.
Just let me know.
- Joe

I believe you were correct with #2 Joe. It was changed to save face I suspect. Only two really know the truth to that though. Things have been going pretty good here Misschka. While you were busy obsessing over logs, IP's and who said what where and how, I had a few really great gardens. I had over 50 crosses take this year. In addition to that I was able to engage my son this year. We raised money for Autism charities, collected and distributed seed, gave away tomatoes and even won 1st place for besting tasting for a tomato I developed at a regional tomato contest. But one of the biggest thrills for me this year was the sense of discovery written in the report I got back from an 8 year old boy who grew out a special line I sent him. If he sticks with it, and I have a feeling he will, there will one day be a yellow fruited, variegated potato leaf plant adapted to the north. My life aint over. It's God that judges lives, not you. sounds like Mischka is redirecting you It doesnt have to be limited to something you said or did there. Apparently a TV membership entitles Mischka & Co to judge one's actions on the rest of the internet too. IF I need someone who's failed at life to talk trash about me Keith I'll be sure to ask you to chime in, otherwise how about you mind your own business and STFU, k? thanks. It's a public forum. It's not your forum. I will not shut up. But thanks for providing examples of your judging and trying to control things where you have no authority. " sounds like Misschka is redirecting you " I didnt say anything about "banning". I said redirecting because it is a possibilty to explain what was happening. I was going off your past actions as an admin/ moderator. You may just have one nick but you have at least two faces. Remember, I was a mod and saw the difference between your forum face and your "admin" face. I have experienced that and your "groupthink" firsthand. If I had cared what you thought, I would have stopped. Actually, I think jtcm05 was the only one with the clap. Got it after some wild party in college or something. Even though he got penicillin and all, we still don't hug him much.
