Technically, that's a road toad or pavement possum, sometimes a roadie raccoon, but that's a pop referrence. All are generically referred to as road pizza. Down in South Texas we call em frizbees. ;D

Armadillo leprosy? Hard to imagine a skin disease on an armor plated animal.
I heard they had moved into Missouri, but never seen one. With the mild winter this year, I saw four on the highway this spring in Central MO.
Southern friends, how much fencing does it take to keep them out of the garden?

Not much. I've never seen them just dig under a fence like a dog might. They only tunnel down when building a burrow; usually they just scratch in soft earth for grubs. My 28" rabbit fence has been enough to keep the 'dillos out of the garden so far. I've been pouring a bucket of concrete down burrow holes I find in other places in the yard. Hoping they've learned to do that elsewhere. Haven't seen any so far this year... **knocks on wood**
