My oca stems rotten just above ground. And my mashua leaves turn yellow and fade. Somebody knows how to do? Here is Niagara Falls,5b--besiede Lake Erie.

Oca does tend to rot in a number of circumstances - too wet or too much manure in the soil are the main ones.

my understanding is that mashua, even they day-neutral ones, don't like heat at all. too warm and they'll just fade away (mine did the same last year).

In the past ive had that problem with my Oca rooting above ground level too,but this only happens at the very end of my growing season when i put over a clear plastic to extend the season by an extra month, what ive learnt is that if i let the Oca get to wet when the plastic is over it,it will root,so now days i keep it as dry as i can. Have you had a lot of rain khoomeizhi??

who, me? rain pretty regular for a couple weeks, but my oca's fine. 'bout to start the orflo-special-early-fall in a couple weeks to get the tuberizing kicked off.

They don't like heat, specially hot nights. It's a problem common among many tropical highland plants.
