My interest is not just in growing stuff but also in eating it... And I write down the recipes for myself so I won't forget them, and why not share them then... I hope that people will be inspired by my not so common ingredients....

I was planning to write a lot more this winter, but with a death in the family and a lot of winter illness and hectic stuff it didn't happen...

I didn't know they were edible. Interesting. I often leave them growing because the aphids love them and their presence helps maintain the garden population of hover flies and ladybird beetles.

Yes, they are edible, but not everybody realises this. The word 'oleraceus' means something like 'edible as a vegetable' in latin though if I'm not mistaken, think also of Brassica oleracea for example...
Aphids do love them over here too, that's true...

Your P.S. on parsnips had me laughing. I guess they are an amazing vegetable. Thanks for making it bilingual, there are a lot of great articles.

Joseph, I suppose it wouldn't have happened like it did without you: the second source of that glass gem corn was a seedswap with homegrower, and so I think half of my glass gem corn comes from you indirectly...
It was a fun experiment but not for repeating every year. I hope I get enough seed to exchange with everyone I know who's interested, that's all... Next year I think I'll try Alan's astronomy domine.
