How do they taste? Once I ate some fruit and found them kind of bland. But I guess there is some variation too?

I find they taste good when they are nice and ripe. They are quite sweet. A bit like a creamy pear. But the unripe fruit tastes horrible. Extremely astringent.

This late fall/ early winter I obtained and planted two saplings of Sorbus of Himalayan stock from Sacred Succulents. It will be a while, but they should make fruit.
