I was thinking about the plants having low fertility, and it didn't make much sense.
Low fertility growing conditions do make more sense and make for a very interesting crop. The opposite of what the agro-industry tries to create maybe, but a perennial cauliflower that can grow in bad circumstances and comes true from seed would be a gift to humanity!
