Hello all,
I'm a new member to this forum from the greater Toronto area, in Ontario, Canada.
I found this site many months ago after several threads turned up in my Google searches of random gardening questions.
I'm fairly new to gardening and am interested in growing OP and heirlooms vegetables in my 5b backyard - specifically lots of tomatoes, squash, and melons this year.
Anyhow, glad to meet you all - here's to a great growing season in 2013!
Cheers LC

Thanks for the warm welcomes Ferdzy - hello, fellow Ontari-ari-arian! Meaford is a lovely place! I've gone and purchased seeds for about 16 varieties, mostly early 1-5lb muskmelons, casaba types, and watermelon. I joined SSE this year and have placed a number of orders for varieties I can't find anywhere else (Marygold, Bit of Honey, Cochito Pueblo, etc). Hopefully they arrive by mid May. Do you grow melons? Cheers

I've grown a few melons for the last couple of years. But his year I'm going hog-wild*. Marygold is on my to-try list this year. It comes highly recommended.
* To the point that I will feel personally responsible if we have a cold, wet summer.

Templeton, no worries, eh. Jb, Blue Heron is the name of my house...though not located in your trailer park nearby. Dumont, I think I'm already setting myself up for a melon trial at my place, lol. Got too many I want to try!

Hiya, also Ontarian here , just north of Guelph. Ferdzy sent me a couple of Melons this year... Starting to see a pattern here (; if you need more tomato seedlings, let me know in mid May. I have sown FAR too many again.

Hi Ottawa and nicky! Regarding tomato seedlings, lol, I'm in the same boat. Fortunately, I'm focusing on the dwarf/micro/compact varieties so they shouldn't take up too much space. But thank you for the offer!
