Here is the oldest TGS seedling. It seems to be doing great. The other seedling that sprouted the same time as this one died two weeks ago. Great photos! Be sure and check that garlic seedling to make sure that it really died, and didn't just go dormant... Wow. What a lot of clay. that was one of my first thoughts. So I have left it alone except the occasional watering, but I'm not going to count on it. I do have a LOT of clay although it has been slowly getting better. http://instagram.com/p/2VDvTMip3B The middle bed is the best right now. I have added a ton of coffee grounds in the last year or two. Where the grass is as mulch is the worst part. Part of it was a new bed last year and hasn't had much added to it as well as the area across the entrance to the garden. It's a work in progress and a ton of digging!

Well I worked an overnight last night. Got off and decided to plant the tomatoes and peppers. It was not raining yet but is forecasted to for the next three days. Spent a good three hours out there figuring out where I wanted everything and planting. Came in and got cleaned up and went to bed. Just when I fell asleep a storm came through. 50 mph winds and a torrential down pour. Had a 8" of standing water in the path and quite a bit in the beds. I think I lost one tomato maybe more and a good chance of a few peppers too. We will see later on tonight.

Looks like you needed that rain, kazedwards . My soil has been drying out and cracking like yours. Sorry the storm pushed things around a bit.

Prolly better to hill up that tomato than to move it. I might but I think I'd rather have the space for a healthier plant. I still have three plants to give away or plant myself. Every seed I planted came up. Actually They were the seeds you had sent.

Well the mortgage lifter tomato finally crapped out. I will plant another one in a day or two. Pulled hLf of the radishes yesterday. I let them get a little to big by they are still decent snacking. http://instagram.com/p/25Oo3bip7t I did find a surprise in the mix with purple one in the mix. http://instagram.com/p/25Ogleip7p I planted it back in the garden to save seed and grow out. I also decided to let the broccoli Raab go to seed and grow a bigger amount this fall. Not as many shoots as I had hopped for but a few more plants and we will be in business. http://instagram.com/p/25Olw7ip7s

Well this is the garden as of last night. http://instagram.com/p/3RHJ7Rip_n I am actually keeping up on the weeding so far this year! The cole crops are doing good so far. They are in the bottom of the picture. The biggest plants are cauliflower which have taken off. The medium sized ones are broccoli. Tha small ones to the bottom right that are somewhat scattered are cabbage. They didn't fare transplanting very well. The ones that did servive seem to be doing good but not thriving. The yellow flowers in the middle is the broccoli Raab that Flowerweaver sent me. I am letting it go to seed and will be planting a fall crop of it. The kohlrabi is coming along as well. Next year I don't think I will start cabbage indoors and just direct sow it instead. Tomatoes with interplanted peppers are along the right border. They are just recovering from transplant shock. I also added a few more peppers yesterday too. Also replaced a tomato that didn't make it. Peas are in the trellises and are flowering. Along the back are the carrots that need thinned. You can't really see them but I have onions and a little lettuce across the path from the broccoli Raab. They took longer than I thought to come up, but are now. Most of the onions are potato onions from Philagardener and T. Then I have garlic in the middle bed. I still need to get beans, watermelons, cantaloupe, and cukes in the ground. They are going in the new patch that is along the field. I am also going to plant beans after the cole crops.

That is a nice garden design. I should get a bit creative like that.

What a busy summer so far. Tomatoes and peppers are a doing good. Have picked a ton of Cherries and have lots of peppers ready to pick. Also have slicers starting to turn. Planning on planting beans and cukes in the next two days(really behind for the year). The melons and squash are taking off. The garlic's scapes have opened and there are a lot of flowers. Hoping to get more TGS this year.

Those pumpkins look great! Mine have not done well this year, seems like something is wrong with the soil. I planted them where I'd had potatoes earlier. So glad the broccoli raab is doing well for you. I've got my seed starts in pots ready to be planted out as soon as the temperatures cool down a bit. It's become my new favorite vegetable.
